December 24 2007, Temecula, CA – It was a wonderful Christmas thanks to the generosity of many giving and thoughtful individuals and businesses in the community.
Wally Fanene, a young 25-year old who graduated from Temecula Valley High School in 2000, received a brand new modified Chevrolet Tahoe as a Christmas gift.
Wally was seriously injured by a roadside bomb in Kirkuk, Iraq in September, 2007 losing his right arm and right leg. When Mary Boyce, an employee of Temecula Valley High School for the past 14 years heard of Wally’s accident, she wanted to help. Although she had never met Terry Gilmore of Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac, she felt he could help guide her in the right direction to raise funds to buy a modified vehicle that Wally could drive. She met with Terry just 2 weeks prior to Christmas and was encouraged when Terry said, “We can do this. We will have a new car for Wally for Christmas.”
The perfect combination to make such a big gift possible in such a short timeframe was put into place; A kindhearted, long-time employee of Temecula Valley High School, Terry Gilmore of Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac and a local non-profit organization that supports military families, All From the Heart, Inc.
Terry explains, “Every person that I called and asked for financial assistance to help make this happen donated in some way. Some companies even offered services to the Fanene Family such as pizza for a year, day-care, weekend stay at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, dry cleaning, tailoring, and car washes. The show of support was amazing and is the reason we were able to raise the funds for Wally’s new modified vehicle so quickly.”
The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe was presented to Wally and his wife, Scarlet on Christmas Eve. The organizers, Terry Gilmore, Mary Boyce and All From the Heart, Inc. would like to thank each and every person that individually made contributions to make this happen. Also, thanks to the generosity of companies such as Pechanga Resort & Casino, Abbott, Charity for Charity, Temecula Valley Bank, Southwest Traders and many more.
Thank you to everyone! You made this Christmas incredibly special for a wonderful young man and his family that made a huge sacrifice for you and me.

ON-GOING RENOVATIONS AT
MURRIETA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL FIELDS
May 15, 2007, Murrieta, CA – Renovations to the Murrieta Valley High School baseball fields started in 2003 due to the vision of three key individuals. Today, because of the passion of those same three individuals and a passionate young Eagle Scout, the fields continue to be upgraded.
Terry Gilmore from Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac, Mike Allen, a local resident whose son graduated from Murrieta Valley High School in 2005 and Coach Monte Jones have worked to make their vision become a reality for the players of the Murrieta Valley High School baseball team for the past four years.
Their passion was recently reignited when local Eagle Scout, Skyler Ridley decided to make the Murrieta Baseball Field renovations his Eagle Scout project to finish his “Eagle Rank”.
Skyler was instrumental in working with Gilmore, Allen and Coach Jones to complete the most recent renovations. He coordinated laborers from Caliber Concrete to install 2,600 square feet of concrete donated by Robertson Concrete. Clairemont Rentals donated the use of a Bobcat and auger bit from their rental yard. Landmark Fence Company donated the fencing that Skyler and his volunteers dug footings for while a team dad, Mike Bushee owner of Pacific Coast Builders stabilized the fence poles. Orange Coast Construction installed the fencing.
“When we started this project four years ago, the field consisted of dirt and one bleacher that held about 50 people,” says Gilmore. Gilmore was instrumental in coordinating the contractors that donated their services to the project. “Terry has done so much with this project over the years and his assistance has been unbelievable in getting donations to complete Skyler’s Eagle Scout project” says Skyler’s father, Kevin Ridley. “In addition, Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac and Toyota of Temecula Valley purchased screening in the outfield and equipment to keep the fields well groomed”, he added. Because of Terry’s involvement over the years, the field is named Paradise Field. A tremendous scoreboard donated by Mike Brintz proudly displays “Paradise Field”.
“Our job is still not done”, says Mike Allen. “We will continue to renovate the fields until the players have the level of fields they deserve.” When asked why he continues to help, Allen replies, “I want to be a part of something that is going to be here forever. I want to come back in 10 to 15 years and know that we did something that made a difference.”
With new fencing, fresh concrete, and new batting cages at the Murrieta Ball Fields, Skyler will be accepting his “Eagle Rank” representing the Tahquitz District on June 16.
Gilmore, Allen and Jones plan to continue renovations to the fields. They still plan to re-grade the field, replant the grass, install a modular unit to provide class/locker rooms for players, build concrete dugouts and install lights. Anyone interested in helping with any of these projects can contact Terry Gilmore at 951-699-2699.
