Temecula Valley Museum

Located in Old Town Temecula, this museum showcases the region’s history, including Native American culture, the early days of Temecula, and its impressive transformation into the city it is today. Visitors who wander up the tree-lined path along 28314 Mercedes St. will be treated to permanent and rotating exhibits, showcased artifacts, photographs, and interactive displays.

Temecula Valley Historical Society – Little Temecula History Center

Found inside the red barn at the intersection of Temecula Parkway and Margarita, this history center offers free programs to the public on Sundays from 12 PM to 5 PM. Come on over and try your hand at a honey separator, crank a blacksmith forge, or make rope out of twine. There are also exhibits of early Temecula life, such as a stagecoach you can climb on and an antique kitchen complete with a wood-burning stove and an ice box.

Murrieta Historical Society

The Murrieta Historical Society Museum is located in the neighboring city of Murrieta at 41810 Juniper St. and is open on Thursdays and alternate Saturdays. This museum focuses on the history and development of Murrieta and the surrounding areas. It displays hundreds of artifacts, photographs, and historical items depicting the region’s heritage, from hot springs to early farming to Murrieta geology.

Wings and Rotors Air Museum

This aviation museum occupies two hangers at the French Valley Airport at 37350 Sky Canyon Drive in Murrieta. Open Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, admission is free, but a $5.00 donation is suggested.

This museum restores Vietnam-era aircraft to showcase to the public for educational purposes. A UH-1 Bravo Huey and an F-4 Phantom fighter jet are two of the aircrafts on display.
